Jane and I followed the Camino Portugués (Porto to Santiago de Compostela) from 15 to 27-Apr-2026. We travelled to Porto and returned from Santiago de Compostela by train.
Note the term “following”. We did intend to walk most of it and try and do the last 100km on foot to qualify for the Pilgrim’s’ Certificate but we were going to use public transport if we had to! In the end, we had to do one stage by bus to meet a commitment to meet up with friends and we also did a part day by train to make sure we didn’t miss the boat across to Spain. In the end we walked 226km in 12 days and travelled an additional 48km by public transport. We did do the last 107km on foot.
