How this all started

The idea of walking the Camino came from Jane’s Pilates class at our Village Hall where a disproportionally high number of members have done just that. Some have done different bits multiple times. Their enthusiasm was infectious. Special thanks go to Susan, Robert, John and Margaret for their encouragement, advice and loan of backpacks.

It’s very fortunate that the push came from Jane and not me especially given my reputation as a bit of a slave driver!

I’ve done several challenges like this before but on a bike: Lands End to John O’Groats (twice), Boulogne to Biarritz and Caen to Cannes. All these were money raisers and this adds to the pressure (at least for me). The Camino is not sponsored so the pressure is off. We are not going to kill ourselves. If it starts hurting, we will stop doing it!
