Mezzanine Floor Complete – green oak barn

Saturday 10/7/21

Yesterday I went to Chandlers to see if they had chipboard flooring. The current materials shortage meant they haven’t had any for many weeks. However, nine boards had just arrived and I needed nine to put the floor in the mezzanine. It was my lucky day. But they were expensive at £18 a 600 x 2400mm sheet. Today I fitted them.

I’m going to use this area for storage – of wood mainly. I didn’t lay the flooring right up to the edges as that would have been a waste. Instead I put in short vertical pillar to stop wood slipping off the edge.

It’s going to be fantastic having dry storage for long bits of wood that isn’t a room in the house.
