First Featherboard Fixing – green oak barn

Tuesday 27/7/21

Today I started by adding “kick-out” wedges to the bottom the the wall panel frame. This picture was taken after they had been fitted and the breather paper stapled to them. I’ve placed a spare wedge in the picture to show what they look like.

Then I fitted the first featherboards and was pretty pleased with the overall effect.

There is still some work at the top of this panel which I will do tomorrow.

Here’s some of the detail: the featherboard kick-out and abutment to the 50 x 50mm green oak (left) and the featherboards sitting behind the wall brace (right).
