“I’m glad I’m not paying you by the hour” was Jane’s comment today on progress and although somewhat irritating, is a fair observation.
But, once again, I was pleased with the progress I made today. I worked until after dark under the tent and lights and finished with the first truss fully assembled.
There is still some fettling to do of the joints at each end of the second principal rafter but I’m nearly there.
Tomorrow I’ll be able to see how this truss interfaces with the softwood elements of the roof.
There was one disappointment today though. My lovely little rebate plane fell to the concrete floor and broke…
